Tutorial Tuesday: Bloody Ax Necklace

I'm back! A little refreshed, but also with some new stress. Alas so is life, oh well, we persevere!

Anyway, today is a quick tutorial for a necklace that takes about 5-10 minutes. I was at Hobby Lobby the other day and had to be bodily dragged away from the Fairy Tale brand jewelry section. I loved pretty much everything there. I'm also not being paid to say that or anything.  I ended up leaving with only four or five items, so I did well.

I picked up this beauty and knew I had to give it a makeover to make it the perfect halloween accessory.
Here is a link to whats available from the collection online if you wanna check it out.

Cwafty Cookbook: Flaky Caramel Apple Pie

Sorry for the late post again guys, and it's not the finished bag either. Not having a fixed schedule at work makes getting these posts up on a schedule more difficult then I thought. Especially because work is kicking my butt big time since we are understaffed. I think we just hired someone with experience yesterday though, so maybe that might give me a third day off a week...maybe.

Anyway, today I decided to do some baking. I was really craving some apple pie but I wanted to add a twist and make it something fun and very seasonal. This is my own, home-made recipe for Flaky Caramel Apple Pie.

Tutorial Tuesday: LSP Sweatshirt

I'm lucky I got anything done after the emotional pain I have been suffering due to the finale of breaking bad, but I am trying to stay strong! So, next week part two of the messenger bag tutorial should be ready, but this week I bring you the first of many Halloween-themed posts for this month a lumptastic Lumpy Space Princess Sweatshirt!

This Deluxe LSP plushie was handmade by me and can be found in my shop when it reopens!

Tutorial Tuesday: Re-Fashioned Tank Top

I was grabbing some groceries at a certain giant chain department store the other day when I walked past a clearance bin and this funky fabric caught my attention. I pulled it out of the bin and discovered it was a large tank top with this crazy gold lamé-ish (more like gold paint) thunderbolt pattern on it.

It was only $3 and I felt like it looked really sad and a little awkward as a shirt and needed to be made into something else. I had 3 bucks in my pocket and decided I was the person for that job!

Tutorial Tuesday: Comfy Camera Strap

This weeks project comes from necessity, and the fact that today's original project turned into a two-parter that I ended up pushing back for next week and the following. It's going to be a great one though! You should come back and check it out! Hint: Its stripey and has pockets.

In preparation for my next A.A.T I decided I needed a camera strap so that I can go crazy climbing trees and enjoying nature without having to hold/worry about my camera constantly. When I took my photography class, my regular length camera strap bugged me so much. It's main problem in my opinion was the length and the fact that it cut uncomfortably into my neck, so I kept that in mind when making my new strap.

Tutorial Tuesday: Clay Carousel

This week I finished re-reading The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern and if you've never read it
  1. I would recommend it highly.
  2. It is all about immersion into this magical, wondrous, dream-like circus. It has whole designated chapters for describing different tents and attractions so vividly. Mrs. Morgenstern has a gift for evoking mental images.
Being creatively-inclined, I always get really inspired when I read this book, and that is what inspired today's tutorial!

Tutorial Tuesday: Lace Infinity Scarf

A super-quick, cute, and cheap diy project! I thought this would be a great first tutorial for me. I hope you enjoy it.

I was inspired to make this scarf by looking at my plain outfit of a dark grey t-shirt and skinny jeans and thinking, "This just needs a little ...something." I went straight to my cwaft corner and rummaged around in my fabric drawers and found this beautiful pewter grey slightly metallic lace!
