Wow, I know February is the shortest month but dang it flew by this year! I lost myblogging momentum halfway through the month and only really just regained it. I made some really adorable red and pink things this month and I think it just sapped all of my creative energy. (I kid, I kid. Ineeded a little break.)
Hey everyone! It's the end of the month again so it's time to check in with Venture! Last time we saw Venture he was visiting Katie in Texas, which you can read about here.
Venture got to go camping and explore some of Texas. Funnily enough his next host is from NC, my current location, but was staying in Texas when Venture came her way. Read more about Venture's biggest adventure yet below!
Hey everyone! I took off last week due to burnout. Basically there were these commission projects that I took on and underestimated the amount of time/work they'd require. Don't you hate that? Do you do this with crafts/projects and mess up your schedule too??
I digress, recently I decided to start advertising my work online a little more. Nothing huge, just local Facebook trade/buy/sell groups and the like. It worked though! One lovely lady commissioned me to paint all nine of the Pokemon Eevee's evolutions onto these Converse. See how they turned out below!
I cannot get enough doughnuts lately! My favorite local cafe has been carrying delicious specialty doughnuts from a local bakery and they have my favorite flavor ever; Maple Bacon. I had one every school day for 2-3 weeks before I had to stop myself.
That and the fact that I have been using Sculpey almost constantly in my crafting lately totally comes to the logical conclusion of this tutorial. It's also so simple to make I can't believe I haven't done it before.
Happy Valentine's Day lovelies! Sorry...that's weird, I don't normally call you that. Everything is more mushy around this time of year though and I fear my brain has become infected. This is my final project for the holiday, so now I can get my mind off of the topic.
Making your own is super easy because I made the cards into printables that you can customize, plus you get to learn how to fold an origami unicorn. Look deep within yourself, isn't that a skill you've always wanted? Learn all that and get the link to the cards below!
As it is now February everything is red-pink-white color schemes and loads of hearts. The Cwafty Blog will not be lacking in that regard this year and the first Valentines project we're bringing you is this super adorable Winged Heart Pin.
The winged heart idea actually came from a doodle I did during class. Inspiration usually strikes me there.
This pin only takes a few minutes to make plus baking and glue drying time. You can get the full tutorial over at Dream A Little Bigger!
On January 31st I woke up before dawn to head to Charlotte NC for Charlotte Mini Con! For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a mini comic con that's been held in Charlotte since 1982, I believe. I figured since Aniwave went well, I should try vending again.
It was the biggest trip I've taken in a while and I had a great time seeing all the costumes, booths, and merch. Check out more pictures below!
